How to reduce motion effects in iOS 14 for iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch

How to reduce motion effects in iOS 14 for iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch

  1. Open the Settings app Note: The Settings app icon may appear in a different place on your home screen than shown in our example, below.
  2. In the Settings app, scroll down and select Accessibility from the list.
  3. On the Accessibility screen, select Motion.
  4. On the Motion screen, select Reduce Motion to set the toggle switch to On.
  5. This will turn off most animation effects. However, some interface controls and page transitions may still use a ‘slide-in’ effect. If you would prefer these to fade-in instead, select Prefer Cross-Fade Transitions to set the toggle switch to On.
  6. When you are happy with your settings, you can return to the home screen page of apps by:
    • On devices with Face ID: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
    • On all other devices:  Press the home button once.
