How to enable the auto-answer call feature in iOS 16 on your iPhone or iPad

Short guide:

  1. Open the Settings app and tap Accessibility.
  2. Tap the Touch option.
  3. Tap Call Audio Routing.
  4. Tap Auto-Answer Calls.
  5. On the next screen, tap the toggle switch for Auto-Answer Calls to turn it on.
  6. Use the + (plus) and (minus) buttons to set the time limit before a call is answered automatically.

This section gives you step by step instructions on how to enable Auto-Answer Calls in iOS 16, with pictures of the screens to help.

Find the Accessibility settings

1. Tap the Settings icon  on your Home screen to open the Settings app. Scroll down and tap Accessibility.

Open the Touch settings

2. On the Accessibility screen, tap the Touch option.

Open the Auto-Answer Calls options

3. On the Touch settings screen, scroll down and tap Call Audio Routing, then tap Auto-Answer Calls.

4. Tap the toggle switch for Auto-Answer Calls to turn it on. Use the + (plus) and (minus) buttons to set the time limit before a call is answered automatically.

Return to the Home screen

5. When you are happy with your settings, you can return to the Home screen by swiping up from the bottom of the screen or by pressing the Home button on devices with a physical Home button.
