This section explains how to use dwell timing with a mouse in Android 12. This is a step-by-step guide with pictures of the screens to help.
1. Click the Settings icon on your home screen or in your app tray to open Settings. Scroll down and select Accessibility.
2. Scroll down to the Interaction Controls section and select Timing controls. On the next screen, click Autoclick (dwell timing).
3. Tap Short, Medium or Long to turn dwell timing on with the specified delay. On Short, for example, the mouse will ‘click’ automatically after 0.2 seconds of the motion stopping.
4. If you’d rather set your own delay, choose Custom and drag the slider to set a new delay time. You can choose any period between 0.2 seconds and 1 second.
Note: We have written these instructions for devices running the standard version of the Android operating system. You may find some minor presentation differences if the manufacturer has customised the theme.
