How to increase the contrast in iOS 8 for iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch

This feature is also meant to work alongside other accessibility settings if desired, such as ‘Bold Text’.

  • To activate the ‘Accessibility’ features on your device select ‘Settings’ + ‘General’ + ‘Accessibility’.
  • Tap to select the ‘Increase Contrast’

There are three toggle button options for ‘Increase Contrast’:

  • ‘Reduce Transparency’. This improves the contrast on certain backgrounds to increase legibility.
  • ‘Darken Colors’.
  • ‘Reduce White Point’. This reduces the intensity of bright colours.
