How to add trails to the mouse pointer in macOS 13 Ventura

Short guide:

  1. Apple computers don't offer the ability to add trails to the mouse pointer but there are  other ways to make the mouse easier to see and find.
  2. To locate the pointer, quickly shake the mouse from side to side. This will temporarily make the pointer larger.
  3. To make the pointer larger permanently, choose the Apple menu > System Settings > Accessibility > DisplayPointer Size
  4. To change the colour of the pointer, choose the Apple menu > System Settings > Accessibility > Display > Pointer outline colour and Pointer fill colour.
  5. Search the App Store app for "mouse pointer", or similar, to find third-party options.
