How to get visual feedback when using a touchscreen in Windows 11

Short guide

  1. Open the Accessibility settings by pressing the Windows logo key  + U.  Select Mouse pointer and touch.
  2. Scroll down so that you can see the Touch indicator section, and tap the toggle switch for Touch indicator to turn it on.
  3. To make the visual feedback more noticeable, tick the checkbox labelled Make the circle darker and larger.

This section explains the steps you need to follow to enable the Touch indicator in Windows 11. This is a step-by-step guide with pictures of the screens to help.

Open the Accessibility settings

1. Open the Accessibility settings by pressing the Windows logo key  + U.  Alternatively, click Start then Settings. Select Accessibility from the list on the left. Select Mouse pointer and touch from the right-hand panel.

2. Scroll down so that you can see the Touch indicator section and click or tap the toggle switch for Touch indicator to turn the feature on.

Make the feedback more obvious

3. To make the visual feedback more noticeable, tick the checkbox labelled Make the circle darker and larger.

Note: If this does not work it could be because someone else manages your computer settings (an IT department or administrator). If this is the case, you will need to contact them to access these settings or for further help.
