Another way of changing the text size is using the Text Size options in the Accessibility settings. Currently, the Text Size options only work with a small number of apps - Calendar, Finder, Mail, Messages, and Notes. See our article How to make the text larger on your Apple Mac computer using the Text Size options in macOS 14 Sonoma for more information.
This section gives you step by step instructions on how to make the text larger in macOS 14 Sonoma by changing the screen resoltion, with pictures of the screens to help.
1. Click the Apple icon in the top left corner of the screen and choose System Settings from the menu.
2. In the System Settings window, click Displays in the sidebar.
3. On the Displays page, click the drop-down menu for Resolution and choose Scaled.
4. If you have an Apple screen, choose one of the options from Larger Text to More Space.
5. If you have a different screen, choose from the screen resolutions listed. The lower the screen resolution, the larger the items on the screen will appear.
6. When you are happy with your settings, close System Settings by clicking the Close button (red circle) in the top-left corner of the window or using the Cmd + W keyboard shortcut.
Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings are managed by someone else (an IT department or administrator for example). If so, you will need to contact them to access these settings or for help.
