If you use a teletypewriter (TTY) you can use your Windows Phone with the TTY (sometimes also referred to as TDD) to make a phone call:
Note: Not all phones support TTY/TDD
- Plug your phone into the TTY using the appropriate cable and connector for the headset
- On the sign in screen, choose ‘Ease of Access’ Fig 1.Note: if your phone does not have ‘Ease of Access’ on the sign-in screen you can find it under ‘Settings’.

- Choose ‘More Options’ from the list. Fig 2.

- TTY mode is the second option down. Tap the drop down menu and select ‘Full’ Fig 3.

- Turn on the TTY and make your call.
- To return to the home screen press the Window button at the bottom center of the screen.
Telecoil can be turned on to transmit a call directly to a hearing aid that is in telecoil mode. This greatly reduces background noise.
